I’ve had a couple of ‘blogs over the past twelve years. But I’ve never been very good at posting to them. A post once a month, once a year, once a decade…In the past, I just haven’t felt like writing every random thought or feeling I had. It just seems kind of self indulgent. I think really good ‘blogs have a focus…politics, the arts, etc.

I’d like this ‘blog to be a place where I can post my thoughts and feelings about my spiritual path. Because of that, I’ve decided to use a psuedonym. I figure this will allow me the freedom to be honest about my experiences.

Having said that, what this ‘blog will NOT be is a place to rant and hold bitch fests. I intend to keep things very positive. That doesn’t mean that I will never complain. I want to be honest. But I don’t want to complain about people. This is about me, not other people.

I’m just a beginner in Paganism and Wicca. I’d specifically like to talk about my experiences as I begin rituals and spellcasting, my learning path as I attend Wicca 101, read books and forums, and listen to some of my favorite Pagan podcasts (The Wigglian Way, Pagan Parents On The Edge, SpiritsCast, and A Witch’s Primer).

I’ll probably talk about how I started on the Pagan path and why I think Buddhism and Paganism are compatible.

And I’m a parent, so I’ll talk about how I deal with my son’s religious and spiritual education.

Well, that’s it for now. Maybe tomorrow, I’ll talk about how I got here.

I am a graduate student finishing up my PhD in geology. I live in the Mojave Desert in the southwestern United States. I’m married to a wonderful man and we have a beautiful eight-year-old boy. Our three cats and one dog round out our happy family.
